It all started with my daughter's first birthday cake, three years ago. My first time, covering a cake in sugarpaste. I had a vision in my head that it would be really pretty and I soon found out that icing cake is harder than it looks.I signed up for an evening course in cake decorating, shortly after that attempt!

A few people have said recently, that they can see the progress in my skills, which was lovely to hear! It prompted me, to look back over all my daughters birthday cakes to see the changes. I have to say her Minnie & Daisy picnic cake for her 3rd birthday, is still one of my absolute fave cakes.

I know I've still a lot to learn but am getting braver trying new things and am finally starting to do figurines. I love that her first birthday cake, in a way, changed my career path!
